Chenango River

Otsiningo Park – Enter Otsiningo Park and go to the last parking area near the river just before the road starts to loop back.  You can fish anywhere along the river.  One of the best spots is to walk up the walking trail (effectively upstream).  Trail will move away from river, go up a small hill, and then back down.  You will see a corrugated metal fence rail on the right side of the trail.  When you reach the end of the rail, there is a footpath down the bank to the river.  Fishing here can be good for bass and fall fish.  Streamers and sometimes dries work.  You can wade fish from here all the way back to your car. https://www.google.com/maps/@42.1291284,-75.9022848,1215m/data=!3m1!1e3?entry=ttu

Additional notes below from Anthony Palombaro

The Lackawanna has been very warm so I will save that for fall,  but fishing has been decent on the WB at the water treatment plant in Deposit, the park in Deposit and further down so maybe we set up a day or evening there?  Thoughts?

I would suggest the Chenango either at Otsiningo Park or the park at Hillcrest or enter at the DEC access in Chenango Forks where you get in at the mouth of the Tioughnioga and fish or walk down to where it meets the Chenango… about a quarter mile.  This is just upstream and on the opposite bank  from Chenango Valley State Park where I have also entered the Chenango.  Last spot to consider entering the Chenango is from the McGirks parking lot.  In low water there is a lot of wadable water and I’ve had good smallie days and evenings there.  There is a DEC access just across the road from the McGirks entrance but I have found it difficult sometimes to walk under the bridge upstream to the spots I like.  They do play golf near the parking lot so parker beware:)

Certainly, Greenwood or Nanticoke lake could be good beginner spots if he’s not wading but I haven’t been there in a while so I would leave this for others to validate.

As for the Susquehanna, I have gone in at the park mentioned above that is behind the Home Depot, and in lower or medium water I have entered through the Grippen Park boat access or the DEC access in Apalachin.

Ifyou have a boat and a PA license, there is a boat access at Quaker Lake and the lake has been fully stocked with trout for years.  There are good bass fishing spots for wading on the East Branch of Wyalusing Creek just west of Lawton and in the spring, they stock the north branch, Gaylord Creek and the East Branch but they get fished out fast and become bass water this time of year.  This is the same for Salt Springs Park and Snake Creek down by me but at this point they are pretty well fished out and do not really hold bass.
